Wow... First thing, the packaging was super. The tallow jar was in like an egg crate holder inside a strong box. Excellent packing, thank you. It is a large jar at 14 oz that should last quite a while as you don't need to use much. I use tallow a lot and wanted to try bison tallow. This is much better than using regular oils, especially with the high smoke point and not being a seed oil. The price was $24.95 at the time of ordering and although this might seem expensive to some, it will certainly last a long time. The label clearly states to not put tallow down the sink, so I ALWAYS wipe out all of my excess with paper towels before washing the pans. You don't want to clog your drains as it cools hard/solid, not like oils. I am excited to try more products from this family-owned Bison farm and would certainly order this again.

    This tallow is a good one for frying or coating food for oven roasting. Haven't tried in baked goods. Nice taste, especially for food that can take some seasoning such as potatoes. I probably wouldn't use it on things that need more delicate or neutral flavor. Good shelf stability.

    This Big Crazy Buffalo Bison Tallow cooking oil is great for using in my cast iron pans. It almost seems to season them at the same time that I cook, so that's a big plus. I try not to use any seed oils but some of the non seed oils have a low heat requirement. This tallow allows for high heat cooking.

    There is very little flavor to this oil which is exactly what I wanted.
    while it is a solid, it melts easily and a little goes a long way. I love to pan fry potatoes in this oil! I also find that it works great for greasing my bread and cupcake tins.

    I recommend this bison tallow oil.
